Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Whom will I talk with about my account?
A. We believe that a team approach is the best way to serve our clients. All our professionals will be available and accessible to answer your questions and address your concerns.
Q. Where will my funds be held?
A. Fruth Investment Management does not hold any client funds or securities. As a Registered Investment Advisor, we are required to maintain client funds and securities at a “Qualified Custodian,” such as a bank or broker-dealer. We use Charles Schwab for this purpose.
Q. How much trading will you do in my account?
A. We are long-term investors and as such do not jump in and out of positions. Our average turnover is approximately 15-20% a year.
Q. What type of information will I receive about my account?
A. We will send you a quarterly package containing our view on the markets, your current holdings and the performance of your account. From your custodial firm, you will receive monthly statements detailing all activity in your account and trade confirmations every time we buy or sell. And from the companies we invest in, you will receive quarterly and annual reports.
Q. Will my money be invested all at one time?
A. We rigorously adhere to our approach in selecting investments, so your money will be invested gradually, as opportunities become available in the markets.
Q. What will you do with the investments held in my account at the time I become a client?
A. Unless otherwise directed, we will evaluate the merits of each investment based on your investment objectives. If we feel it is not in your best interest to hold, we will liquidate the position.
Q. Is there a minimum amount of time that I am required to work with Fruth Investment Management?
A. The client may terminate his or her contract with Fruth Investment Management at any time through written notification. Fruth Investment Management may also terminate the contract in this manner. At the time of termination, any pre-paid, unearned fees will be refunded to the client on a pro-rated basis.
Q. What fees does Fruth Investment Management charge and is there a minimum account size?
A. Fruth Investment Management is compensated based on the market value of our clients’ assets under management. Our fee schedule is shown below:

Market Value of Assets
Annual Percentage Rate
$250 Thousand to $5.0 Million
1.00%
Next $5.0 Million to $10.0 Million
